Little Peanut

So far that's what he/she is... Today I had my first ultrasound. It was a vaginal one, I never had one of those with Jack, so it was a new experience. They said that it's too early to determine the sex, so we have to wait for twenty weeks to find out if it's a boy or a girl. As of now, we know it's a healthy, active baby and that he/she is not a twin (thank God)! The baby is also measuring exactly on time, so he/she isn't big yet.

I went to a new doctor. I love the practice - every person that I talked to was wonderful and I really, really liked the doctor. They are going to let me try to deliver vaginally (Jack was a C-section). But it pretty much has to be an absolutely perfect pregnancy and in the end, the ultrasound will have to estimate the baby's weight to be below 9lbs. Given Jeremey's genetics, we have a slim chance. He and all of his brothers were really big babies. Then if I do get to attempt to deliver, I will have monitors inside my uterus and if there is the slightest bit of distress, I will have an immediate c-section.

I'm glad that they are taking our health very seriously and that they are giving me a chance to deliver naturally. It's pretty hard to find a doctor and hospital that will let you attempt a VBAC, so I'm really grateful to find these doctors and that they're nice. We can only wait and see how it all goes... here's the first baby picture!

Another week...

Grama and Grampa left for a little vacation... Jack had to get some kisses in first. This is Jack at the park. We found a praying mantis and he loved playing with it.

Now he's pretending to be scared of it...

Then he said "eat, eat" and I gave him a cracker to eat, thinking that he must be hungry.

Jack wasn't hungry, but he is good at sharing.... I still love watching him walk, it's so cute...

We also got to go to Bupa Kevin's company picnic - and let me just say that this is not a regular company picnic. First thing Grandma and Bupa won a new computer... When we got there, we had hot dogs, jumped in the jumper, got a tattoo, played the games in the booths and got more lunch and then popsicles! Please, please don't let me forget that Jack got to sit in the cement truck AND honk the horn!!! He even got to see tractors and he hasn't stopped talking about it yet. On a normal day, I get to hear about Bupa's truck about 3 times. But so far this week, the conversation will not end. "Bupa truck - honk, honk (while making the motion). Bupa truck. And tractor , psss" (that's the sound the tractors make in Cars). Over and over, then I get to hear about the jumper. "Bump, bump, booboo? bump, bump - it broke (they let the air out for a few minutes), bump, bump all done." I love that he remembers things and wants to tell me about it. Every time he remembers, it's as if he's having as much fun as he did on Sunday when he did it for the first time. He just lights up with excitement.

Today he got to hang out with Grandma Karen and Bupa Kevin and his GG's. He told Grandma Karen "2 grandmas and 2 bupas" - wow he's smart, I can't imagine trying to figure out who everybody is... He also got to talk to Auntie Shellee on the phone. I heard he didn't say much, so we'll have to try that again another time, I know he misses her.

Harvest Festival

Hi Everyone... This weekend was the harvest festival at St. Paul's, our church. So Grama, Jack, Jeremey and I headed over there to check out the games and rides! Jack loved the swings, the dragons and the cars. He cried when his turn was over, just like at Disneyland. But there were no lines- so he could get right back on! He sort of liked the games - okay, he liked the prizes. He didn't really want to throw the ball, he thought that he should get to keep it. He wasn't too sure about the fish that he won, but that's okay because he didn't even make it 24 hours. Jeremey and I have tried to have fish as pets millions of times, but it never works. He loved the pizza and cupcake and even danced to the live music. He had a great time. I hope you enjoy the pictures! Otherwise, we've been having lots of fun. Grama and Grampa came over on Sunday too... They played with Jack and Daddy made us some great meatball sandwiches - yum! Jack is really maturing... He has a little friend, Dominique, that we see at the park all the time. They have a great time together, playing in the sand, blowing bubbles, drawing with chalk and chasing each other all over the place. I love that he is getting to the age that he actually plays with other kids, not just near them... One day they climbed to the top and sat and talked with each other for quite a while. It was so cute! He doesn't even speak all that clearly and she was asking him questions. A little while into it, I heard him say "a mama" and he turned around and pointed at me... what a cutie! Then the other day he played with another little boy. They shared their cars and followed each other with them. Then the cars would meet and say "hi Lightening," "Bye Lightening" ... this is a fun age. Pregnancy wise, everything seems to be going well (knock on wood). Next week I'll be 3 months! It sure seems to be going fast. We have no progress on names, so I guess we'll wait until we know what we're having... As of right now, we're working on sleeping arrangements. It's time for a big boy bed and a room make over!

I just had to post this...

So this is a video of Jack playing with Rob and the hippo:

And this is Jack watching that video:

I think he could watch videos of himself all day! It's too funny...

We went to Jeremey's cousin Jennifer's bridal shower on Sunday. Jack really, really needed a nap, but he managed to have a good time with Tyler...

And with me...

The other night Jack fingerpainted and Daddy asked him what was on his nose. One thing lead to another and this is what happened... We might have to work it into a halloween costume because he LOVED it! He couldn't stop staring at himself in the mirror!

First Sunday of Football

Sunday was the first official Sunday of football - yuck! We went to Grandma Karen's and Grandpa Kevin's house to watch the games and bar-b-que... Jack had a great time as always. He loves to play with his uncles, grandparents and great grandparents... Here's a couple of pictures...

Uncle Rob brings this hippo to life! And Jack thought it was hilarous!!! But something went wrong, because here is his mean face!!!

All better!!!

One more birthday...

Last week was my birthday... our little family will finally get a break on the birthdays for a while... Here's a picture of Jack blowing out the candle on my cheesecake.

I guess we can safely assume that it tastes good, since both of our mouths are full!
Now he's walking off all of those calories with uncle Craig...

Thanks guys for a wonderful dinner!

On Saturday, we went to Downtown Disney and the Rainforest Cafe

with Lauren and Doug...

Jack was a bit overwhelmed at first, but was really excited to see another lightening and thunder storm. We haven't seen any of those since Colorado and he still talks about them. Then he started to like the monkeys that we were sitting near and loved the fish tank and the snake on the way out...

Then he played with Legos

He picked up this box, showed mommy and Lauren and then as he got up, he called for Daddy ... Smart kid, he knew there was no way mom would buy it for him!

And then he practiced being a big brother - doesn't he look thrilled?

All in all, it was a fun night - thanks Lauren and Doug!

In the blazing heat...

Yesterday, in the blazing 105 degree weather, we went to Tye and Katie's for a pool party. At first, I really thought it was going to be horrible because of the heat, but Jack had a great time in the pool. I've never seen him stay in for so long. First he played with Grandpa and all of his uncles, then me, then we went back in with Conrad and Milana... had a little dinner and then he suckered uncle Tye into the pool (while Jack was naked) and then daddy, Conrad and Milana came back in too! It was great they were still swimming when the sun went down.

Jack's Two!!!

Well, well, well... All these parties and finally his real birthday is here and he can really say he's two! What better way is there for a two year old to celebrate than to go to Chuck E. Cheese? Well mom could think of a few better ways, but Jack loves it... He runs around like crazy from one game to the next. I don't think we even need tokens; he's entertained just by looking at the games. And this time, Dad let him run on top of the ski ball game - great, he's learning how to cheat at a young age... All of his Grandparents came (I slacked off on pictures) and so did Aiden and Jamie! But the best surprise of all was Auntie Shellee!!! She found a ride home from Berkley for the three day weekend!!! What a lucky birthday boy!

As an update... at his two year old appointment, Jack is three feet tall and 30lbs. So if you double his height at two, like the old wives tale, he should be six feet tall as an adult. He is a ton of personality and talks like crazy. Most of the time Jeremey and I understand, but others may not. His favorite word right now is milk. "Pease milk, pease, milk pease" (if I say the combination in different orders, will you get it any faster)? And this goes on all day and sometimes in the night. I think he's going to become calcified or something... Since he got his molars he hasn’t been sleeping as well as he was before. He never used to have his bottle in bed, but now he wants sippy cups in bed. Um no, you’re going to get cavities!

He says lots of things, some of my favorites are: “oh no,” “oh great,” “jeez,” “more” which sounds like moon, “pease,” “cheese?,” “peanut butter,” I can’t even begin to explain what that sounds like, banana which sounds like bana, “crash” sounds like cash and is usually followed by an “oh no.” He loves to say “two.” He says it when he has two things and when he’s pretending to count – “two, two, two, two” um, that’s four honey… He says play. When he wakes up in the morning it usually starts with a giggle and if he’s still a little tired he asks for milk, but if not he says “play? Choo-choo?” And out we go. A little later, or some times right away he asks, “park? walk?”

We walk to the park most days and he loves that, especially if we see bunnies or lizards. He has also started running and I mean running (okay, not as fast as Aiden, but too fast for me). There is a soccer field at the park and he will run the length of it and sometimes back and in lots and lots of circles. It’s great and he usually falls asleep in the stroller on the way home! He still favors the swings at the park. He’s not real big on the slides, but is a really good climber. He also loves playing in the sand. We usually bring some trucks and a shovel and he loves that.

His favorite toys are still his cars, but trains have also risen to the top of the list. He puts the train tracks together all by himself and has even more fun taking them apart. He loves books and he can reach both of his book shelves, so he gets them out all the time. His favorites are Rainbow Rob and Green Eggs and Ham. But he also loves all of his Cars books (they’re just not mom’s favorite). His favorite shows are Sesame Street and Thomas the Train and his favorite movie is Cars, but he still loves his ‘La la.’ He also likes Incredibles and Finding Nemo. But we try to limit TV. the best we can. He will usually not watch any more than an hour a day. Mommy loves skipping scenes in movies, and I’m dreading the days when he figures out what I’m doing. He’s really good at the puzzles that he has and can sort shapes. He knows his colors, blue is still his favorite but he knows yellow, purple, green, black, pink, orange and is finally saying red. He tries to sing along with the a,b,c’s he gets a few letters right. I can tell he’s interested, so that’s good.

For the most part, he’s usually in a good mood. He smiles at people and says hi to them all the time. People are always smiling at him too and he gets a lot of compliments. He’s very active and doesn’t like to be too contained that is usually our main disagreement, but that’s part of being two. All in all, he’s really fun to hang out with, we’re really lucky to have such a cool kid.

Repeated from babysites...

Sorry... It seems like it's been forever since I've updated, but it's not like I haven't tried. Since I’ve had so many problems, I have decided to follow the crowd and I started a blog - http://lindstedtfamily.blogspot.com/ ... I will officially begin posting on it September first, that way all of Jack's first two years will be on the same website. Although I like a lot of what babysites has to offer, there are a lot of problems with uploading pictures and when it comes time to renew the membership it will be well over $100 and blogger is free! :) Here are some pictures from Grama Colleen's birthday (Grampa's is today) and one picture from Sunday when we visited Lauren and Doug. Jack has been crazy lately - he is SO smart! My favorite thing right now is that he tells stories. Not really stories, but he will tell you what just happened. For instance, Jeremey was giving him a bath the other day and he made Jack get out because he was splashing. Jack came out and told me “Dada, no no, all wet – all done, no no” his little voice makes it that much better. He’s been practicing running and for the first time in his life I actually had trouble catching up to him. Maybe he’ll be able to keep up with Aiden this weekend! Every morning when he wakes up, he says “mik” and then once he drinks a little bit he says “play – choo choo?.” Usually a little later he will ask for “walk” or “park” and that’s what we do… He loves to look for lizards (zzizys) and bunnies at the park (odd combination, but that’s what we have out here). He walks down stairs all by himself and can even do it without holding on – scary! He’s also super cuddly, he gives kisses and hugs for no reason – I love it! I can’t think of much else that he’s doing, but I’ll try to think of more later. In the mean time, I was tagged by Jamie for this blogging thing where you’re supposed to tell eight things about yourself that people don’t know so here it goes… 1. I’m pregnant! Yep, just a few weeks. My first doctor’s appointment is Monday, so hopefully I will learn more then. As of now, I’m pretty sure that my due date is April 19 – yep, there will be another Lindstedt born in April (there are lots and lots of them). 2. I love being Jack’s mommy – there is absolutely nothing else in the world that I would rather do. And I really, really hope that he doesn’t mind being a big brother. 3. My second favorite thing to do (that also doesn’t pay) is going to school. I love school, I wish I could go forever and I really, really wish that I could get paid for attending. 4. I married the best man in the whole world – he’s a great Daddy and my best friend. 5. I miss watching TV… yes, we watch an occasional Sesame Street and Jeremey watches totally lame things at night, but I miss watching good shows like in college when we would argue over watching 90210 or Dawson’s creek, I want to watch a show like that… 6. I have to copy Jamie on this one – I’m a blog stocker too! I have to look; it’s the closest thing to a good TV show that I can get! 7. Sometimes I forget that I have this website and that some people look at it. So, if you say congratulations, don’t be surprised if I have no idea what you’re talking about or how you heard. 8. Finally, I love staying home with Jack! All of the things that used to drive me crazy - dishes, vacuuming, cleaning and cooking – they really aren’t that bad, I’m getting used to them. Seems like the hormones might be getting to me – I’ll sum this all up with a nice big – “I love my life!”

Hmmm...Maybe there's something to this...

So... I'm really frustrated with babysites right now. I've tried to upload pictures three times and they are not saving, so I decided to give blogspot a try. I just don't know about posting pictures here - that's the only problem that I forsee.

Last Thursday was Grama Colleen's birthday and we went over for dinner. Jack helped her blow out the candles. On Sunday we went to visit Mr. and Mrs. Gonzales and saw another concert...
