Carving Party...

'Twas the night before Halloween... And the kids we're dying to carve pumpkins! We told Jack that we would do it after dinner and once he had his plate in front of him, he was magically full! No need to eat, time to carve! Grace was pretty excited too, although she put more seeds into the pumpkin than she took out. Jack did a lot of his own carving this year - he had it planned out for a few days. He wanted his pumpkin to have three eyes and to drool! Jack's is on the right... he pretty much did the mouth all by himself! He directed everything else, three eyes and two noses... The mouth is all drool (just in case you weren't sure)... Next up - Trick-or-treating!

Treats in the Streets

The Thursday before Halloween, we hit Orange with Grama, Jamie and Aiden for some practice trick-or-treating in the Circle. The kids had a blast and it's always fun to see Aiden! Gracie and Grama... Goofy boys! Jack and Darth... Iron Man? Good thing daddy was there, I thought it was a transformer... They're so easily excited! I wish my camera wouldn't have whited out their faces - they never pose like this for us... Yeehaw! Grama Colleen got them some popcorn hands! Thank goodness! They were hungry and ready to eat all that candy!Happy Halloween!!!

All Saints Day

As a reprieve from Halloween (but not from costumes) Joy School had an all Saints Day party. Jack was St. Francis, who is the patron saint of animals. They had a great time playing together and I thought his costume came together quite well (considering it was done the night before). Our little saints wielding their weapons.... Jack and Nathan:The whole group for the day... Do you see the bird on his shoulder? Isn't that awesome? And you know the friar hair style? The one with the huge bald spot? That's supposed to be his hair... Jack (St. Francis), Nathan (St. Peter) and Joey (St. Francis too). I love Rimini's back yard, there's great light for pics! St. Peter is using his key for a gun! Happy All Saints Day!

Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch

In case you haven't had enough Halloween (I know we have) we headed over to the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch for a play date (right after the Mommy & Me party)! The first thing they did was ride the horses because that is now their favorite thing to do! I was not anticipating riding horses and changed her out of her costume, bad mommy! How cute would that picture have been? Then they played in the pumpkin patch for a while, got lost in the hay maze, bounced in the bounce house and checked out the haunted house! Look how much he has grown in a year! My little monsters! Jack and Raveyn on their way to the haunted house...

Pumpkin Patch #2: Tom's Farms

Each year since Jack was one, we have visited Tom's Farms for Halloween... It's always fun and this year was no different! Though it is MUCH MUCH more difficult to get a good picture! And this year, we waited too long and there were hardly any pumpkins left! While there, we hit the pony rides and Jack loved it, but Grace she didn't stop smiling the entire time ~ I have no words to explain how much she enjoys horses. I have a million pictures of her grinning just like these... She was so happy on that pony ride! She also loves the carousel. Jack won't go on it at Disneyland because it's a baby ride, but when you have to buy tickets, he's ready to ride! I love my goofy kids! Anyway, they also have a train ride and Jack and Daddy were going to ride alone because I didn't really think that Grace would care. But we were taking pictures of the boys and she kept saying "choo-choo!" and the conductor decided to let her and I ride too! For free! and I was oh so wrong... she loved it too! And while we were riding Jack told Daddy "this is AMAZING!" I love how easy it is to make their day. Oh, and I forgot to mention that on top of letting us ride for free, he took pictures for us! What a cool guy! Their selection of pumpkins was so low that we had to hit the grocery store on the way home. But don't worry, it was great! The pumpkins were $.16 a pound and we got 3 gigantic pumpkins for half the price of one pumpkin at the pumpkin patch! Woohoo! I'm sure I'll post pictures later, but seriously, they're huge!

Pumpkin Patch #1

Last Wednesday, after mommy and me, we met up with some friends at the local pumpkin patch. This is our first visit to a pumpkin patch this year. It was a pretty quick one, since this is just about the smallest pumpkin patch ever. But the kids had fun - there was a jumper and most of their friends were there - and really, that's all that matters. Gracie and Christian... Sometimes it is so much fun to take her picture! Jack was way to busy to take pictures... How much do I weigh? Cheese! She just does these things, she's so cute! Then I have to drag Jack over to complete the picture, but by then, she's done smiling... And don't even think about telling her when to smile - there will be no posing unless she arranges the time and the place! Happy Fall!
